Teaching Plan

Curriculum

  • The Merdeka Belajar Curriculum or Independent Curriculum, is implemented during our stay in Indonesia. It is a shift from the old curriculum to a new one, therefore, we arrived at the school where they are still adjusting their practices to the new curriculum. The Independent Curriculum is student-centered, giving students the chance to participate in self-directed learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving exercises; the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum fosters their creativity. Second, this curriculum promotes students' exploration of their passions and interests, encouraging their capacity for original thought. Teachers should thus support this learning environment by giving students the direction, encouragement, and tools they need to take control of their education.

  • In terms of content, I was assigned the following topics: report text, procedure text, and imperative sentences.  Due to the Independent Curriculum, I was able to become more innovative and creative during my teaching practice. I made use of traditional visual aids, PowerPoint presentations, images, and creative assessments, such as the usage of clays for my procedure text lesson.
